Fear and Anxiety?
Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus - Philippians 4:6-7 NIV
Is there anyone who can really say, without being untrue, that they have never felt even a little bit of fear or anxiety? I don't know. All I know is that I'm the least qualified to say something like that.I have experienced hard times when fear has consumed me and it has been impossible to manage my thoughts. Times when everything in your head is going too fast and it seems that you will never have the opportunity to step on the brakes.
The few hours of sleep are interrupted by another bad thought and you don't know what to do. For several months I was like this and managed to hide it by acting out in front of others because I didn't want to worry or be a burden to my family. I honestly thought I was going to be able to get out of it on my own. BUT HOW WRONG I WAS. One day I just couldn't take it anymore and finally decided to seek help. I did what I should've done a long time ago. I talked to my wife and told her: "I need help, listen to me and pray for me". Wow, she lifted me off the ground with a powerful prayer accompanied by a strong and long hug. It didn't get fixed instantly, but now I had someone who loved me fighting with me and taking care of me.
If you have been through this or are going through it right now, no matter how moderate or extreme it has been, there is one thing for sure, and it's that you need help. I thought I could do it all by myself, but I was wrong. Maybe you have no one or you have tried but you can't find anyone to help you and you don't know what to do. I pray to the Almighty God to comfort and encourage you. May He cover you with His peace and calm the storm in your mind. I pray that the Father will surround you in His arms.
I pray that He will bring people into your life who will help you and that He meets you and makes you realize that only His perfect love can cast out all fear and remove all anxiety in your life.
